Short Mat Bowls

Short Mat Bowling (SMB)  in the Village Hall has got off to a roaring start over the past three months. Of the twenty seven residents who have had a go, eighteen are now playing regularly. None of us have any previous SMB experience, although some have played lawn bowls.  The standard of play has improved very quickly, but we are still looking for beginners to come and give it a try. 

There are four one hour sessions per week. On Fridays, at 1pm and 2pm, the sessions start with a rollup, which is ideal for beginners. These sessions very often move on to a couple of ends of match play. This gives new players an idea of match structure and rules.

The two session on Mondays at 10am and 11am are by invitation. Four teams are selected and they play one hour matches. 

Chris and his team of gardeners have done a great job with our new lawn bowls green. We are all very keen to get out there and give it a go.
