June 2025 Resubmission ACT NOW

The approach to Wadswick Green if this Development Goes Ahead

As you are probably aware a revised planning application (ref: PL/2024/05527) has been submitted for the industrial-scale data centre development on the Donkey Field—the land immediately north of Wadswick Green as we exit towards Westwells, Neston and Corsham.

If you do not respond, your silence may be taken as agreement. It is vital that as many individuals as possible comment—whether in objection or with concerns—so that the strength of local feeling is registered.

How to Comment

What to Say

Your response doesn’t have to be long or technical—but it must be in your own words. Please avoid copying text from others, as the Council may disregard duplicated or templated submissions.

You might wish to comment on:

  • Scale and Massing – Is the proposed development appropriate for a rural, residential setting?  Previous applications for housing were limited to 2 storey and low density development!

  • Visual Impact – Will the large industrial building affect the landscape, your view, your walking leisure?

  • Noise and Light Pollution – Are you concerned about 24/7 operational disturbance?  The developer still insists noise, and light will not be a problem as the latest technology is quieter, and they switch the lights off at night (or most of them).

  • Proximity to Homes – The site borders homes in Wadswick Green, Westwells and Moor Green

  • Traffic and Safety – Are you concerned about increased traffic on our main access road

  • Drainage and Flood Risk – While it does not directly affect WG, previous development proposals were unable to find solutions to this problem. Ark has not sufficiently shown they will not increase the risk of flooding to homes in Westwells. Until the whole of the flooding problem over WestWells, Park Lane and the MoD estate is known and understood land that may be needed for flood management should not be developed upon.

  • Effect on Wellbeing – Do you believe this would affect your mental or physical health?

Your own personal experience, concerns, and observations carry weight. Even a short paragraph can make a difference.
