A Note on Style

This isn’t an app for subtle grey tones or minimal edits. True to its name, it leans toward the bold and theatrical—great for when you want to make a statement.

🎛 Understanding Presets in

Dramatic Black and White

Once you’ve opened an image in the Dramatic Black and White app, you’ll see a strip of preset thumbnails at the bottom. These are grouped into three distinct categories, each offering a different creative approach:

📂 The Three Preset Groups

  1. Black and White

Classic monochrome looks with balanced tones—ideal for portraits, architecture, and general use. These typically emulate traditional black-and-white film with subtle contrasts and minimal effects.

  2. Dramatic B&W

High-contrast, bold interpretations. Expect deeper blacks, stronger lighting effects, more grain, and heavier vignettes. These are great for storytelling images or moody scenes.

  3. Infrared

Inspired by infrared film photography, these presets brighten foliage, blow out skies, and introduce unusual tonal shifts. Often ethereal or otherworldly—great for landscapes and garden scenes.

🖱 How to Use Them

  • Swipe left/right across the thumbnails to preview each preset

  • Tap any preset to apply it instantly

  • Use the edit sliders (adjustment icon) to fine-tune contrast, grain, vignette, glow, and more

Each preset acts as a starting point—use the controls above the image to customise it further to your taste.
