Tim Ravenscroft

A beautifully coherent set documenting the Corsham poppy installations. Tim’s work shows careful control of light and colour, with several intimate close-ups alongside wider contextual views. His interior shots, particularly the ones with warm window light and poppies on ledges, were especially atmospheric.

Norman

A bold and vibrant series, often using dramatic red illumination on the poppy cascades. Norman’s images bring a more graphic, high-contrast interpretation to the displays, particularly the night-time red-lit shots. The knitted poppies and the striking vertical cascade were memorable additions.

Sue Warren

Sue contributed misty, quiet landscapes — gentle counterpoints to the strong reds elsewhere. Her foggy oak image added mood and calm to the week’s collection.

Patricia Buckland

Patricia’s images ranged from soft autumn scenes to monochrome woodland and a delicate red leaf study. She consistently brings a painterly and contemplative approach, offering a different visual register within the week’s theme.

Vic Steadman

Vic added a mix of Remembrance-themed details and local scenes, including a monochrome gateway and a well-timed firework burst. His images helped round out the narrative from solemn reflection to community celebration.

Excellent use of selective red; pulling back the perspective distortion slightly would strengthen the geometry.

A sensitive still life; consider softening or cropping the bright document at left to reduce distraction.

Strong monochrome treatment; maybe lighten the midtones around the gate to draw the eye inward.

The sweeping flow of poppies is dramatic; you may crop a touch at the top to reduce empty space.

A delicate minimalist image; beautifully seen and needs no changes.

Gentle motion and monochrome tonality; the tilted horizon could be levelled unless the lean is intentional.

Nicely timed fireworks capture; you could try a slightly longer exposure to smooth the trails further.

Norman — “Stone Cross of Remembrance”

Good balance of stone textures and colour; a lower viewpoint might increase impact and eliminate the clipped hedge top.

A gentle, atmospheric landscape; consider a touch more contrast to reveal the tree structure.

Warm and inviting with beautiful backlight; a very slight crop on the right would tighten the composition.
