📷 Using Google Photos in Your FreePrints Photobooks Workflow

As a WGPC member you already use Google Photos to share pictures in our club upload folder. But it’s also a powerful tool when creating photobooks with the FreePrints Photobooks app?

Here’s how to use Google Photos to streamline your photobook creation process.

🔗 Why Use Google Photos?

  • Easily accessible from any device (iPhone, Android, tablet, or computer)

  • Automatically backs up and organises your photos

  • Provides a central library, especially useful if you take photos across multiple devices

📥 Step 1: Ensure Your Photos Are in Google Photos

  • Use the Google Photos app to automatically sync photos from your phone or tablet.

  • On your computer, upload images via photos.google.com

  • Photos you’ve added to the WGPC shared folder are also in your own Google Photos account and available for reuse

📚 Step 2: Select Photos from Google Photos in FreePrints App

  • In the FreePrints Photobooks app, after tapping “Create New Book”, choose Google Photos as your photo source

  • Sign in to your Google account if prompted

  • You’ll see your albums and recent uploads – tap to select the ones you want

📝 TIP: If you’ve already uploaded images for club sharing, you can reuse them in your book without duplicating effort!

🧹 Step 3: Organise and Edit

  • Use the Google Photos app beforehand to:

    • Crop, enhance or rotate images

    • Create albums to group your favourite shots by theme (e.g. “Spring Walk 2025”)

These edits will be reflected when you access Google Photos through the FreePrints app.

🖼️ Step 4: Continue Photobook Creation

  • Proceed as usual in the FreePrints app, arranging and captioning your photos

  • Google Photos ensures everything is in one place and already curated

💡 Final Thoughts Using Google Photos as part of your photobook workflow saves time and keeps everything organised. It’s especially useful for WGPC members who already contribute regularly to our shared album—it means your best photos are just a few taps away.
